The Gateway Bass'n Gals fished their 2nd 2007 event out of Kentucky Dam Village Marina. There were 4 boats with 9 participants that fished this tournament. Results were great with all but two of us bringing fish to the scales. Not bad considering the bite was a little slow with blue bird skies, minimal wind and very little generation. Anglers used several approaches to catch fish with the only common characteristic being soft plastics.

Congratulations to Leslie Anderson who took first place with three bass including big bass at 2.61 lbs. Her total weight was 6.8 lbs.
Leslie caught her fish in shallow vegetation.

Leslie's non-boater, Pam Dugan, took fifth place with a nice 1.72 lb bass. These bass all came out of shallow water in the back of coves near the marina.

Bonnie Katke took second place with two bass that weighed 4.31 lbs.
Bonnie caught her bass on soft plastics. Bonnie spent most of the day on main lake ledges and humps and moved into the marina area later in the day.

Lynda Gessner
(photo unavailable) took third place with two bass that weighed 4.30 lbs. Lynda's focus was on primary and secondary points in the bays.

Lynda's non-boater, Bonnie Betts, took sixth place with a nice 1.69 lb. bass.

Fourth place was a tie between Mary Lipka and her non-boater, Chereen Hawes. They each had a keeper that weighed 1.91 lbs. They caught their bass shallow with soft plastics. By the way, this was Chereen’s first tournament. Hope she had fun and decides to join us again!

Hope to see you all next time at Longbranch!!! Take off will be from the State Park Marina on June 24th.
